AmeriCorps Cape Cod is an 11-month residential national service program that engages motivated young adults in critical environmental service projects across Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Focused on natural resource management, disaster preparedness and response, environmental education, and community engagement, members work with local nonprofits, municipalities, and communities to steward Cape Cod’s unique land, waterways, and wildlife. Members exit the program with skills and confidence to continue making a difference, wherever their journey leads.

Applications for Year 28 (Sept. 2026 – Aug. 2027) are closed as of May 1, 2026.

Due to receiving more than double the number of applications compared to previous years, our review process is taking slightly longer than anticipated. Our team is actively reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and notifying applicants on a rolling basis.
If you applied before the May 1 deadline, we have successfully received your application materials and we do not need anything additional from you at this time.
All applicants will be notified regarding their application status, including if they are no longer under consideration. At this time, final notifications are expected by the end of June 2026.
Year 28 (2026-2027) recruitment timeline:
March 2, 2026: ACC Application OPENS (link to apply is on this web page).
April 1, 2026: ACC staff begins interviewing candidates. Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
May 1, 2026: ACC Application CLOSES.
May – June: Candidate interviews.
End of June: Final applicant notifications.
September 30, 2026: Year 28 BEGINS.
August 20, 2027: Year 28 ENDS.
Important information:
- The term runs 11 months from September to August. Members must be available to serve the entire term.
- Members must live in provided housing (see Residential Life).
- Applications will be accepted starting in early 2026. Early applicants encouraged!
Member benefits:
- $18,000 living allowance during the 11-month service term
- $7,395 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award for student loans or education costs upon successful completion of the program
