Abandoned or Unclaimed Property

Pursuant to the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 200A, Section 9A provides Municipal Treasurers a procedure for disposing of uncashed checks held by the County which are deemed abandoned.  For more information, visit Massachusetts Law on Abandoned Municipal Funds (M.G.L. The link to the Abandoned Property list below represents uncashed checks issued by Barnstable County.  To claim ownership of a check listed, download a copy of the Barnstable County Abandoned Property form and visit the Barnstable County Finance office located at 3195 Main Street Barnstable, MA 02630.  Please note, A valid form of primary identification is also required.
