Governor Healey Visits Regional Shelter and MACC; Coordination Continues Across Cape Cod

Governor Maura Healey was on Cape Cod today, joined by State Senator Julian Cyr, to assess storm impacts and meet directly with those leading response and recovery efforts.
The visit began at the regional shelter at Dennis-Yarmouth High School, where the Governor met with residents, volunteers, and public safety personnel working to ensure safe, warm accommodations for those displaced by widespread outages.
She then traveled to the Barnstable County Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC), where regional coordination has been operating around the clock. There, state and local leaders reviewed shelter capacity, transportation access, healthcare system status, and power restoration priorities.

Cape Cod and the Islands currently account for nearly half of all Massachusetts residents without power. As restoration efforts continue, approximately 2,000 utility crews are working to restore service to roughly 95,000 impacted homes statewide.
The Governor and Senator Cyr also received updates from Cape Cod Hospital and continued on to additional stops on the Outer Cape, including Provincetown.

Throughout the day, the message was clear: the collaboration between state agencies, Barnstable County, local emergency managers, healthcare partners, utilities, first responders, and volunteers has been extraordinary.

Regional coordination remains active as additional shelter resources are positioned and restoration efforts continue.
