Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in June 2024 was down 13.9% from June 2023 volume and the total value of sales was up 8.6% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 11.7% from the previous year. There was a 20.3% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from June 2023 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 2.8%; Total Value of Sales is up 3.6%; Individual Sales Value is up 8.3%; Mortgage Volume is down 9.5%.
Register Meade reports that there were 495 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2024 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $502,022,229.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June 2024 was $698,000.00.
There were 641 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June 2024 with a total value of $361,486,402.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $382,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 575 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2023 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $462,228,214.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June 2023 was $625,000.00.
There were 804 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June 2023 with a total value of $345,532,656.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $338,200.00.
