Discover How Barnstable County is Tackling Wastewater Challenges on Cape Cod

Are you concerned about water quality problems on Cape Cod? Want to do something about it? Dive into the Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Test Center (MASSTC) Weekly Newsletter to find out how they are creating space for technologists to address wastewater challenges.

In this week’s edition, they highlight their cutting-edge study on urine diversion (UD), a pollution prevention strategy aiming to reduce harmful nutrients from wastewater. With conventional systems polluting our lakes, ponds, bays, and estuaries, UD offers a promising solution by separating urine from wastewater. We’re looking for Cape Cod residents to install UD toilet systems and contribute to this vital research.
