Groundbreaking Ceremony Held at LeClair Village in Mashpee

Mockup of LeClair Village, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2024.

On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, local officials including Mike Jackman (District Director for U.S. Rep. Bill Keating), State Reps. Kipp Diggs and Steven Xiarhos, and Alisa Manotta (CEO of the Cape Cod Housing Assistance Corporation) came together in Mashpee to celebrate groundbreaking at LeClair Village, a 39-unit affordable housing development. Named after former Barnstable County Commissioner Mary LeClair, a long time Mashpee civic leader who continues to advocate for housing and other causes at the age of 88, LeClair Village will be a certified “Passive House” designed to be air tight and super thermal performing. When completed by summer of 2024, LeClair Village will feature 14 one-bedroom apartments, 21 two-bedroom units, and 4 three-bedroom apartments.

LeClair Village was awarded $300,000 in funds from the Barnstable County HOME Consortium. Barnstable County is proud to collaborate with our state and local municipal partners in providing funding to help develop much needed affordable rental housing in our Cape communities.
