Barnstable County Provides Hands-On Firefighter Training in Orleans

Instructors from Barnstable County’s Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training, Fire Programs Division, conducted hands-on training with the Orleans Fire Department this week, focusing on essential ventilation techniques used during structural fires.
Using specialized roof training equipment and programs aligned with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, firefighters practiced techniques designed to improve safety and effectiveness during emergency response. The training provides a controlled environment where firefighters can develop and strengthen critical skills.
In partnership with the Cape Cod Fire Chiefs Association, Barnstable County provides fire training programs, specialized equipment, and mobile training resources to support all 19 fire departments across Cape Cod. These resources allow departments to conduct practical training for on-duty personnel as well as call and volunteer firefighters.
Through these regional training initiatives, Barnstable County helps strengthen firefighter readiness and supports the safety of communities throughout Cape Cod.
