Commissioners Launch Off-Site Meeting Series with First Session in Falmouth

January 26, 2026 (Barnstable, MA) – The Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners will convene on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Falmouth as part of the Board’s off-site meeting schedule to discuss a range of regional and local issues. Media and community members are invited to attend and stay informed on initiatives affecting Falmouth and Upper Cape communities.
Agenda Highlights
• Town of Falmouth update and discussion – Commissioners will hear directly from Falmouth Town Manager Mike Renshaw and members of the Select Board, with discussion focused on local priorities, coordination with Barnstable County, and issues of regional significance to the Upper Cape.
• Update on the Barnstable County Septic Utility Program and Clean Water Center initiatives – Staff will present updates on clean water and wastewater management efforts, including work related to innovative urine diversion projects and regional strategies to reduce nutrient pollution affecting coastal and inland waters.
• Barnstable County Dredge Program year-to-date update and Falmouth dredging projects – Commissioners will receive an update on the County’s dredging program, including a summary of dredging activities and projects specific to the Town of Falmouth, with relevance to harbor maintenance and navigation.
• Consideration of capital and fiscal matters – The agenda includes proposed ordinances related to capital stabilization transfers, the Fiscal Year 2027 Capital Budget, and funding actions supporting County facilities and infrastructure.
• County Administrator and staff reports –Updates on a composting initiative reflecting broader sustainability and waste reduction efforts.
