Commissioners Adopt the Cape Cod Commission’s 2025 Regional Policy Plan

November 26, 2025 (Barnstable, MA) — Kristy Senatori, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Commission, joined the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners today as the Board voted to adopt the 2025 Regional Policy Plan (RPP) and approved the related ordinance.
Senatori presented the final plan to the Commissioners, outlining how the updated RPP reflects the needs and priorities of Cape Cod’s communities. Commissioners expressed appreciation for the Commission’s leadership in developing a collaborative, data-driven framework to guide the region through a time of ongoing change.
About the Regional Policy Plan
The RPP serves as the foundation for planning and regulation across Cape Cod, guiding development and resource protection and balancing the region’s natural, built, and community systems. This update reflects a yearlong public process and responds to a period of significant regional change, addressing pressures on housing, infrastructure, and the environment while building on major advances in wastewater planning, climate action, freshwater monitoring, and regional strategy development. The Plan charts a coordinated path forward for towns, regional partners, and the Commission to support vibrant communities, protect natural resources, and strengthen long-term resilience.
“This update reflects both the challenges we face and the progress we’ve made as a region,” said Kristy Senatori, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Commission. “The 2025 RPP provides a coordinated framework for addressing climate impacts, housing affordability, infrastructure needs, and economic shifts, ensuring Cape Cod continues to protect its natural and cultural resources while planning for a resilient future.”
