Welcoming Misty and Maddi to AmeriCorps Cape Cod!

AmeriCorps Cape Cod, a program under Barnstable County, engages dedicated members in hands-on service projects that support natural resource management, disaster preparedness, and community outreach across the region. This year, we are excited to welcome two new staff members who bring a wealth of experience and passion to the team: Misty Niemeyer and Madeline “Maddi” Bauer!

Misty joins AmeriCorps Cape Cod with an extensive background in conservation and community engagement. Prior to this role, she worked at the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) as the Stranding Coordinator for the Marine Mammal Rescue Team, where she led high-profile response efforts and daily operations. Originally from San Diego, CA, Misty has spent her career as a biologist and coordinator, often collaborating with AmeriCorps members and staff. Her leadership will be instrumental in guiding the program forward.

Maddi brings experience in workforce development, communications, and trauma-informed youth programming. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she previously worked as a mentoring coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her passion for service stems from her own AmeriCorps experience, where she worked on Appalachian health and nutrition initiatives. Maddi’s dedication to community engagement makes her a great addition to the team.

We are thrilled to have Misty and Maddi on board and look forward to their contributions in making a lasting impact on Cape Cod communities!
