VOLUME & VALUE FINISH THE YEAR STRONG!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in December 2024 was up 12.5% from December 2023 volume and the total value of sales was up 31.6% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 12.2% from the previous year. There was a 17.4% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from December 2023 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 1.9%; Total Value of Sales is up 11%; Individual Sales Value is up 6.4%; Mortgage Volume is up 1.2%.
Register Meade reports that there were 469 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in December 2024 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $495,475,145.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in December 2024 was $645,000.00.
There were 694 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in December 2024 with a total value of $650,772,595.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $379,150.00.
By way of comparison, there were 417 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in December 2023 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $376,471,423.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in December 2023 was $575,000.00.
There were 591 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in December 2023 with a total value of $379,995,925.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $332,000.00.
