Hands-On Fire Training Builds Skills for Cape Cod Firefighters

Last week, instructors from Barnstable County’s Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training, Fire Programs Division, worked with the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department on ventilation techniques. The hands-on training allowed crews to build their skills in a safe, controlled setting.

Hands-on practice builds critical skills. A firefighter works with a roof prop during last week’s ventilation training with Barnstable County’s Fire Programs Division.

That training is part of a County program that brings equipment, props, and instruction directly to all 19 fire departments across Cape Cod.

Working with the Cape Cod Fire Chiefs Association, the Fire Programs Division offers training for on-duty crews and drills for call and volunteer firefighters—helping departments across the Cape prepare to protect their communities.
