Instructors from the Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training; Fire Program Division completed two days of live fire training with the County’s live fire burn trailer at Wellfleet Fire Department this past week.

Live fire training using the County’s live fire burn trailer simulates the conditions firefighters are exposed to.  Several evolutions of fire control, hose handling, search and rescue were completed.  The training allows both new and seasoned firefighters the experience to practice skills in a controlled environment.

The county’s support and our staff’s efforts provide fire training of both non fire and live fire to all fire departments on Cape Cod. The mobile training for the 19 departments is provided to departments on duty personnel and drills for our call and volunteer departments.
