Residents should prepare for winter travel conditions, sharply colder temperatures, and hazardous wind chills.

Snow Expected: Late Tonight Through Saturday Evening

Snow will move into the Cape overnight and continue through Saturday afternoon before tapering off Saturday evening. Some lingering snow showers may continue into early Sunday morning across Cape Cod and the Islands.

Expected snowfall for Cape Cod

  • Generally 3–4 inches across Cape Cod
  • 4–6 inches possible in some locations, particularly along the South Coast and areas closer to the storm track
  • Snow may linger into early Sunday morning on the Outer Cape and Islands

Timing

  • Heaviest snowfall expected late Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon
  • Snow tapers off Saturday evening, with lingering snow possible overnight into early Sunday

Impacts

Dangerous Cold: Saturday Night Into Sunday

Following the snow, a surge of arctic air will bring the coldest temperatures of the weekend.
