On the Ground: PFAS Investigation in Barnstable

Representatives from Barnstable County, MassDEP, and GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. recently gathered at the Former Municipal Fire Training Site in Barnstable for a site visit during ongoing environmental drilling and monitoring well installation.

This work is part of an ongoing investigation into PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) at the site. The data collected will provide critical insight into the extent and nature of the PFAS plume and guide future remediation efforts to protect public health and Cape Cod’s environment.
