SALES VOLUME & VALUE CONTINUE TO CLIMB!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in October 2024 was up 5.3% from October 2023 volume and the total value of sales was up 22% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 3.7% from the previous year. There was a 22.2% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from October 2023 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 0.7%; Total Value of Sales is up 8.5%; Individual Sales Value is up 6.2%; Mortgage Volume is down 1.1%.
Register Meade reports that there were 536 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in October 2024 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $562,358,380.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in October 2024 was $700,000.00.
There were 746 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in October 2024 with a total value of $371,551,899.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $400,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 509 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in October 2023 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $461,031,891.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in October 2023 was $675,000.00.
There were 610 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in October 2023 with a total value of $322,969,137.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $388,850.00.
