Cape Cod Gateway Airport and Barnstable County to Hold Joint PFAS Mitigation Update Meeting

Cape Cod Gateway Airport and Barnstable County are inviting community members to join a joint meeting to discuss PFAS mitigation updates. This important session will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Barnstable Town Hall in the James H. Crocker, Jr. Hearing Room, located at 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.

The meeting will provide insights into ongoing efforts by both the Airport and Barnstable County to investigate and mitigate PFAS contamination stemming from historical activities at their respective sites. Community members will learn about the progress made, including innovative measures like the installation of a permeable reactive carbon barrier by the County to contain and treat PFAS in groundwater.
