Barnstable County Launches Open Finance On-Line Platform for Enhanced Financial Transparency
February 2, 2024 (BARNSTABLE, MA) – Barnstable County is excited to announce the launch of Open Finance, an on-line tool that provides easy access to County financial information. The launch of this online financial tool reflects the County’s commitment to providing the utmost financial transparency to our citizens and is accessible at capecod.gov or directly at capecod.gov/Open-Finance.
Open Finance, hosted by Tyler Technologies, is designed to empower users with highly interactive functionality, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the revenues collected and how those revenues are allocated to enhance public services within our community.
Key Features of Open Finance:
- Regular Updates: The platform is updated at the end of each business week, ensuring users have access to the most recent financial data.
- Comparative Data: Users can explore financial data spanning three prior fiscal years, allowing for meaningful comparisons and trend analysis.
- Comprehensive Information: The platform includes detailed information on expenditures, revenue sources, vendor payments, and department-level payroll records.
- Current Year Data: Financial information for the current year is presented on an unaudited, cash basis, providing real-time insights into the county’s financial health.
