Storm to Bring High Winds to Cape Cod and the Islands Sunday Night into Monday Afternoon

A strong storm will impact Southern New England late Sunday into Monday afternoon with rain, strong winds, and coastal flooding.

Hazards are anticipated to include:

  • Damaging wind with potential for downed trees, downed power lines, and power outages. Wind gusts of 60-65 MPH with isolated 70 MPH gusts are possible on Cape Cod and the Islands.
  • Coastal flooding is expected in South Coastal MA and RI during the early Monday morning high tide, with potential impacts in Buzzards Bay, southern parts of Cape Cod, and the Islands.
  • Conditions will be dangerous for vessels in MA and RI waters.
  • Heaviest rain is likely to occur late Sunday night into early Monday. Rainfall totals of 0.5″ to 1.5″ are predicted for Cape Cod and the islands.
