Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission Seeks New Members  

Positions are vital in promoting and advancing human rights on Cape Cod 

September 19, 2023 (Barnstable, MA) – The Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission (BCHRAC) promotes equality and human rights throughout the county.   

The BCHRAC consists of nine (9) members and two (2) alternate members.  Members are appointed by the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners.  The BCHRAC is currently seeking applicants to fill three vacancies for three-year terms beginning January 1, 2024.    

Human Rights Advisory Commissioners are expected to attend monthly meetings, serve on an ad hoc committee, and promote human rights through community education and school-based activities.  

Interested candidates must be a permanent resident of Barnstable County.  People with varied language skills and diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.  Please submit a letter of interest and resume/bio by e-mail to: leslie.dominguez-santos@capecod.gov or via mail to the Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission, Candidate Application, P.O. Box 427, Barnstable, MA 02630 before October 15, 2023. Interviews will be held at the end of October.
