4-H STEM Aerospace Ambassadors

Last month Barnstable County 4-H mentored an Introduction to Aerospace Workshop at Joint Base Cape Cod. The workshop was conducted by Kim Pond, Mass 4-H STEM Program Director and hosted by Barnstable County 4-H and the staff at the Youth Center on base. It was a fun time had by all as the youth built and flew gliders while learning about concepts of flight.

January is National Mentoring Month, a nationwide observance honoring today’s mentors and encouraging communities to engage in mentoring activities to ensure positive outcomes for youth. Barnstable County 4-H is thankful for all of our volunteers who are serving as mentors and making a difference in the lives of 4-H members across Cape Cod.

4‑H mentors are more than advisors; they are role models, educators, life coaches and friends to the 4‑H youth in their communities. Every 4‑H project and program involves youth collaborating with caring adult mentors where kids are encouraged to explore their interests and receive constructive, positive support.

Consider being a volunteer today and help us reach even more youth and provide more opportunities. From a speaker, judge or workshop leader giving a few hours of your time to a leader working a few hours a month with youth we have opportunities for you.

There are additional 4-H workshops planned for February and April as well as summer camp. Help us in making it a great year for Barnstable County 4-H and consider being a volunteer or mentor! Click here to learn more.
