Barnstable County Celebrates National County Government Month with a Focus on Education and Engagement

Barnstable, MA (April 3, 2024) – Barnstable County proudly announces its participation in National County Government Month (NCGM) this April, embracing the theme “Forward Together,” a vision promoted by the National Association of Counties (NACo). This theme highlights the critical role of county governments as entities dedicated to fostering community connections, inspiring future generations, and pioneering innovative policies and solutions.

With a foundation dating back to 1685, Barnstable County embodies these principles, working to ensure the health, safety, and prosperity of its residents. As we celebrate this month-long observance, we are eager to showcase the vital services and initiatives that exemplify our dedication to moving “Forward Together.”

“Barnstable County’s observance of National County Government Month is more than a celebration; it’s a commitment to raising awareness about what we do. Our goal is to make sure our residents are aware of the county’s role in the region,” says Beth Albert, County Administrator. “Through these initiatives, we aim to deepen our connection with the residents we serve.”

National County Month Activities
