Barnstable County Announces the ‘Forward Together’ Photo Contest
In celebration of National County Government Month (NCGM) this April, Barnstable County is thrilled to announce the launch of the ‘Forward Together’ Photo Contest. This year’s NCGM theme, “Forward Together,” highlights the pivotal role of county government in connecting, inspiring, and leading our community. Embracing this theme, the contest seeks to showcase the essence of county activities and/or the scenic beauty that defines Cape Cod.
Contest Categories and Recognition
- Adult Category: Open to Barnstable County residents aged 18 and older.
- Student Category: Open to high school students currently enrolled in Cape Cod schools.
Prizes will be awarded in each category as follows:
- 1st Prize: Certificate of Recognition and an invitation to attend a Board of Regional Commissioners’ Meeting. Winning photos will be featured in the 2024 Barnstable County Annual Report.
- 2nd Prize: Certificate of Recognition.
- 3rd Prize: Certificate of Recognition.
Winning entries will also be highlighted on Barnstable County’s digital platforms, including the website, social media channels, and printed materials, with full credit to the photographers.
Criteria for Judging
Entries will be judged based on their depiction of county activities that demonstrate connection and/or leadership, inspirational impact, and the scenic beauty of Cape Cod.
Rules and Guidelines
The contest is open to Cape Cod residents and high school students, with a submission limit of three photos per participant. Photos must be original, with basic editing allowed. Submissions must be in JPEG or PNG format, include a caption, and provide the participant’s contact information. By participating, entrants grant Barnstable County the right to use their photos for promotional purposes.
Important Dates
- Contest Launch: March 1, 2024
- Submission Deadline: April 5, 2024
- Judging Period: April 10 – April 15, 2024
Submissions should be emailed to communications@capecod.gov with the subject line “Forward Together Photo Contest Entry.” Indicate in the email which category you fall into and your contact information.
