Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners Elect New Leadership in 2024
County Departments will begin presenting proposed budgets at Commissioners’ meetings beginning January 10, 2024
JANUARY 2, 2024 (BARNSTABLE, MA) – As required by the Barnstable County Charter, the Board reorganizes leadership roles on an annual basis. Today the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners unanimously elected Mr. Ronald Bergstrom as Chair and Ms. Sheila Lyons as Vice Chair.
Message to the Community
The Board adopted an end of the year message summarizing some of the County’s significant achievements in 2023. Achievements include addressing water quality and supporting clean water infrastructure, addressing PFAS contamination, supporting affordable housing programs, advocating for digital equity and broadband expansion, championing human rights and community engagement, expanding services for child victims of sexual assault, commemorating AmeriCorps Cape Cod’s 25th anniversary, and prioritizing forward-looking financial management.
