A Week of Training at the Sandwich Fire Department
The Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training, a program of Barnstable County, provides specialized on-the-job training and resources for local first responders and bolstering community safety.
During recent training sessions conducted at the Sandwich Fire Department from September 12 to September 15, fire fighters focused on sharpening their skills, particularly in handling car fires. The County provided the two fire instructors responsible for managing the car fire prop and lending assistance to the Sandwich Fire Department.
Over the course of these four days, on-duty firefighters took turns engaging in a car fire prop scenario. This rotation provided each member with invaluable hands-on experience in a critical aspect of firefighting.
This collaborative effort between the Sandwich Fire Department and the Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training underscores their shared dedication to the continuous improvement of firefighting skills and public safety.
