BARNSTABLE COUNTY MERCURY DISPOSAL SERVICES

Recently there was a large spill of liquid, or elemental, mercury on Cape Cod that was both costly to the environment and to the homeowner. To assist residents of Barnstable County in disposing of this chemical, the Barnstable County Hazardous Materials Program offers free pickup of liquid mercury. Barnstable County has collected literally over a ton of mercury in the past 15 years, through the cooperation of all 15 Cape Cod towns, the Barnstable County Hazardous Materials Program, and Covanta-Semass. Barnstable County will respond to all calls and arrange a free pickup. Call 800-319-2783 to arrange a pickup or ask questions regarding liquid mercury. No fuss, no fees- Barnstable County is working for you.
