BCREPC stands down from March nor’easter

BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) held its final conference call regarding the March nor’easter at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014.

Based on input from public safety officials and progressive estimates of repair times from NSTAR, the BCREPC has determined that the Barnstable County Regional Shelter System will not be activated for this weather event. Furthermore, the Barnstable County Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) will stand down as of 5 p.m. March 26.

The BCREPC wishes to thank the members of the Barnstable County Incident Management Team who staffed the MACC along with representatives from NSTAR, the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). The BCREPC also extends its gratitude to the members of the volunteer agencies who were on standby throughout the event.

This is the final BCREPC media release regarding this event.
