Expanding Skills and Building Safety: Regional Firefighter Training in Full Swing

As the busy summer season approaches, fire departments across Cape Cod are making the most of their time by sharpening critical emergency skills with the help of Barnstable County’s Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training (CCCPST).

Truro
This month, CCCPST partnered with the Truro Fire Department to provide essential fire extinguisher training to the Town of Truro’s school cafeteria staff. With hands-on practice and expert guidance, the team ensured more municipal staff are prepared to respond quickly and safely to fire incidents.

Provincetown
In Provincetown, firefighters engaged in live-fire car training exercises. These high-intensity simulations help teams practice fast, coordinated response under pressure, vital preparation as summer brings increased visitors and activity to the Outer Cape.

Cotuit
At the Cotuit Fire Department, teams focused on forcible door entry using a specialized training prop. These drills prepare first responders to access buildings rapidly during emergencies when seconds count.

The Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training is committed to delivering region-wide professional development that equips fire and safety personnel with the tools, techniques, and confidence they need to protect our communities.
