Barnstable County Department of Human Services Sponsors Free Training Sessions about the Health Impacts of Vaping
These online trainings will focus on the impact nicotine vaping products have on individuals with a history of substance use and mental health disorders. This population uses tobacco products at a higher rate than the general population, which amplifies health disparities. Meanwhile, the e-cigarette landscape continues to rapidly change and evolve.
Please join us to learn about some of these newer products and examine how they are impacting the public health debate about the risks vs. the potential benefits of vaping. We will also highlight special treatment considerations for people with behavioral health conditions who use these products and provide guidelines for using nicotine replacement therapy to quit vaping.
Despite an increase in FDA regulations, nicotine vaping product sales grew over the past three years.
Additionally, the majority of vaping products on the market today contain even higher levels of nicotine than prior versions.
