Buy Fresh Buy Local Cape Cod and Cooperative Extension Showcases Barnstable County Programs at Ag Day 2023
This week Buy Fresh Buy Local Cape Cod, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension staff, and members of 4-H Cape Cod had the privilege to take part in Ag Day 2023 at the State House! Hundreds of people, including state legislators and staff, farmers, agriculture advocates, and Commonwealth employees visited our information table to learn about Barnstable County’s agriculture, aquaculture, nutrition, and food access programs.
We were also delighted to provide visitors with samples of a delicious salad made by Certified Nutrition Consultant, food grower, and amazing chef Heather Bailey of The Optimal Kitchen. The balsamic kamut, kale, and mushroom salad highlighted oyster mushrooms grown right here on the Cape by Uli Winslow of Uli’s Mushrooms: Cape Cod Coastal Farm Products!
