➡️ In preparation for the upcoming Nor’easter, the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) is in the process of staging shelters in Falmouth, Barnstable and Eastham. We’ll have more details about the shelters later today.
➡️ Crowded shelters present a risk of COVID-19 exposure to our most vulnerable citizens. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO REDUCE THIS RISK. If you anticipate that your home may be unsafe during the storm, and you have the means to make arrangements with friends and family, please do so as soon as possible.
➡️ We understand that some may not have the option of making alternate arrangements and those are the people we want to support. Keeping our vulnerable citizens as well as our shelter staff and volunteers safe and healthy during this weather emergency are our utmost priority.
➡️ It is anticipated that this storm will have a significant impact on our region, with the most severe snow and winds taking place Saturday morning. Please prepare accordingly and reach out to friends, family and neighbors who may require assistance.
➡️ The Barnstable County Emergency Planning Committee, which is comprised of local and state government officials, first responders, health care workers, local volunteer coalitions, and public health and public works leaders from all 15 Cape Cod towns will be working hard before, during and after this storm to ensure that all available resources are ready to assist our community during this weather event.
