Petition Asks For Prisoners To Be Released Due To COVID-19 Concerns

The Supreme Judicial Court is slated to hear arguments Tuesday morning, March 31, on a petition that seeks to release thousands of prisoners who are currently incarcerated in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the state’s prisons. The petition is being brought forward by the Committee for Public Counsel Services and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
