FY 2016 Continuum of Care Program Competition Funding Announcement
On December 20, 2016, HUD released the FY 2016 Continuum of Care Program Competition Funding. HUD is funding “$1.95 billion to more than 7,600 local homeless housing and service programs across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands… [to] help end homelessness and provide critically needed support to local programs on the front lines of serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness.” The Cape and Islands Continuum of Care was successful in obtaining $1,758,102 in funding. The Cape and Islands Continuum of Care (CoC) Grant Program is a homeless assistance program administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Barnstable County Department of Human Services is the CoC collaborative applicant and provides fiscal management, monitoring, operational infrastructure, and administrative support.
