5 sent to hospital after Wellfleet hazmat scare

Five emergency responders went to Cape Cod Hospital early this morning over concerns they had been exposed to a hazardous substance.

​According to a Wellfleet Fire Department news release, at 2:03 a.m. paramedics went to Chequessett Neck Road for a routine medical call. Emergency workers transporting the patient noticed an unknown smell that irritated their eyes and throat.
