NORTH TRURO – The fourth annual Barnstable County Wildfire Training will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Highlands Center at the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fire crews from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Bureau of Forest Fire Control and the Cape Cod National Seashore will collaborate to give Barnstable and Plymouth County firefighters a basic understanding of wildland fire behavior and firefighter safety during initial attack and size-up. The training will cover tactics and capabilities of department engines, hand crews, bulldozers, and aviation assets.
Northeast Forest and Fire Management LLC will assist with the training.
The Barnstable County Incident Management Team will facilitate the training with planning, operational and logistical support.
