Description:

Landscaping for Resilience

Wednesday, December 8th – Virtual Presentation

7:00PM – 8:00PM

Trees are an important part of the home landscape and environment. Trees provide oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide, remove pollution, reduce stormwater runoff and provide resources for wildlife. Trees may also result in property damage and/or personal injury when trees fail. Weather events that contribute to tree failures are expected to increase in frequency and intensity as a result of climate change. Learn how to manage trees and plan landscapes to reduce the probability of tree failure. Also, learn how to identify trees that may be predisposed to such a failure and require evaluation by a professional.

Featured Speaker: Russell Norton, Agriculture and Horticulture Extension Educator, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension
Co-Sponsors: Waquoit Bay Reserve, Association to Preserve Cape Cod, MA DCR, NOAA, Friends of Waquoit Bay Reserve, Barnstable County/Cape Cod Cooperative Extension
