Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Welcomes Sandi Shepherd-Gay as Youth Extension Educator

For Immediate Release

March 26, 2021 – Barnstable, MA. | The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Program, a Barnstable County department, is pleased to announce that Sandi Shepherd-Gay has been hired as the part-time Youth Extension Educator for Barnstable County, Barnstable County 4-H.

Sandi received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater State University and Master of Education from Framingham State University. She joins us after 16 years in public education in health teacher and assistant principal roles at the middle school level.

4-H was a large part of her family’s life for 13 years as she and her husband, Steve, participated as parent volunteer members while her son was a member of the Middlesex County Good Shepherd Sheep Club. Also, for some of that time, she was a member of the Middlesex County Good Shepherd Sheep Committee supporting the sheep department during the Middlesex County Fair and filled the secretary’s role in the judges’ booth. During her spare time, Sandi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being active through bike riding, hiking, camping, and traveling. During downtime, she enjoys reading, baking, and sewing.

This is an exciting time for 4-H in Barnstable County. Sandi is looking forward to learning about and embracing the interests, priorities, and needs of Barnstable County’s youth. She has shared that her goal is to work collaboratively with community members throughout the county to “support our youth to grow to be their best, unique, individual selves to become contributing members in their families and their local and larger communities.”
