BCREPC Stands Down From Jose
- Peak winds have passed and winds will slowly decline as Jose weakens over the next several days.
- The MACC will cease operations Thursday afternoon.
- The BCREPC conference call and media release schedule will end.
The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) held its last conference call associated with Tropical Storm Jose at 4 p.m. Thursday. Given that Jose’s impact on the power grid has been minimal, and forecasts call for continued weakening, the BCREPC Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) will cease operations later on Thursday and the conference call schedule will end.
Over the course of the event the BCREPC has worked closely with electric utility Eversource and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and would like to thank them for their cooperation and provision of staffing at the MACC. The BCREPC commends the Barnstable County All Hazards Incident Management Team for its performance in deploying, staffing, and managing the MACC.
