2016 HUD NOFA Deadline
Wednesday, September 14, 2016 is the deadline for this year’s CoC application which will request over $1.7 million for 17 projects that provide housing to over 130 homeless households and support infrastructure costs of the Cape & Islands Continuum of Care. The complete application will be posted here on the Department of Human Services website on Monday, September 12, 2016.
Affordable Housing at Village Green Apartments:
Applications for affordable housing units at the second phase of the Village Green Apartments in Barnstable are due Friday, September 30, 2016. Several units are being set aside for households that are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The lottery will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at the Town Hall in Barnstable. View application.
Coordinated Entry System:
A Continuum of Care (CoC) subcommittee has been working on next month’s roll-out of the region’s Coordinated Entry System (CES). Preliminary policies and procedures for this system are being drafted and will be introduced to the Regional Network on September 28, 2016. Contact Paula Schnepp at pkschnepp@gmail.com for details.
Round Table Discussion
Housing Assistance Corporation’s next Roundtable Discussion will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please RSVP to Liz Belcher at lbelcher@haconcapecod.org by September 16, 2016.
Yarmouth’s Community Preservation Committee Annual Meeting
Yarmouth’s Community Preservation Committee is holding its Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the First Congregational Church, 329 Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, MA. Mary Waygan is presenting on how Yarmouth has used CPA money through its Affordable Housing Trust.
Regional Network on Homelessness Policy Board Meeting
Monday, September 26, 2016 at 8:30 AM is the next meeting of the Regional Network’s Policy Board at the Harborview Conference room at the Barnstable County Complex. The meeting is open to the public.
The Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness is a broad-based public-private partnership committed to identifying and implementing creative solutions to preventing and ending homelessness on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The Regional Network is the entity organized to carry out the responsibilities required by the HUD CoC Program and is composed of representatives of organizations, including nonprofit homeless providers, victim service providers, faith-based organizations, governments, businesses, advocates, public housing agencies, school districts, social service providers, mental health agencies, hospitals, universities, affordable housing developers, law enforcement, organizations that serve homeless and formerly homeless veterans, and homeless and formerly homeless persons to the extent these groups are represented within the geographic area and are available to participate.
