Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment (BCDHE) is accepting applications for a part-time (19.5 hours per week) Water Quality Laboratory Business Manager. The Barnstable County Laboratory provides analytical services both directly to the public and to the municipalities on Cape Cod, and is certified to test drinking water, bathing beaches, groundwater and wastewater. The Laboratory Business Manager will work under the general direction of the Laboratory Director and will perform various administrative business management, and professional functions, requiring considerable judgment in planning, organizing, and analyzing laboratory business activities; including oversight of laboratory expenses and revenue.

Position qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or closely related field with a minimum of 12 chemistry credits required. Five to seven years of experience in business management of an environmental analysis laboratory preferred. Chemical industry or research laboratory supervisory experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
