Barnstable County Department of Health & Environment is accepting applications for the position of an Epidemiologist to provide professional, administrative and public health epidemiological support for the towns of Barnstable County. Develops community, public health, and COVID-19 response programs to address community needs. Evaluates regional communicable and chronic disease data made available through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts surveillance systems, from other reliable sources, and/or implements primary data collection activities. Works with Barnstable County municipalities, healthcare providers, and state authorities to surveil and report upon Notifiable Diseases (Infectious and Non-Infectious), and other relevant communicable and chronic diseases in the region. Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with specialization in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related public health field; Two-five years of professional work experience in public health, healthcare, or government at the state, county, or local level. Part-time work, internships, and volunteer experience may be used to meet the professional work experience requirement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
