Community Programs Coordinator – Children’s Cove
Overview: Children’s Cove: The Cape & Islands Child Advocacy Center is recognized as the foremost advocacy center providing comprehensive and coordinated multidisciplinary services to child victims of child sexual abuse, serious physical abuse, witness to domestic violence, and child exploitation and trafficking on Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
The Community Programs Coordinator’s role is to raise awareness of the mission and services of the agency, develop and coordinate volunteers, and support child abuse prevention initiatives in the community. To support or develop positive working relationships with public and private schools, daycares, hospitals, community agencies, community groups, youth-serving organizations and utilize volunteers to expand reach.
The Community Programs Coordinator will be responsible for communicating the Children’s Cove’s mission, vision and values to the community and partner agencies by seeking opportunities to work collaboratively with community organizations to participate in informational and outreach events, provide education and awareness about child sexual abuse and prevention to the community, and engage in targeted outreach efforts for under-represented communities. Will be responsible for coordination, onboarding, and oversight of the volunteer, community prevention and youth programming. Individual should be a self-starter, energized, detail-oriented and flexible. Must have significant knowledge of best practices related to cases of child abuse and the Child Advocacy Center model. Excellent communication and presentation skills are needed.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in related field. 3-5 years’ experience in community outreach and engagement, providing education and training, and/or volunteer management or similar profession. Must have knowledge and experience working with children and child maltreatment.
