June 17, 2022 | FDA Authorizes Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Down to 6 Months of Age

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized emergency use of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 to include use in children down to 6 months of age.

May 19, 2022 | CDC Strengthens Recommendations and Expands Eligibility for COVID-19 Booster Shots

Following a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), CDC is expanding eligibility of COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to everyone 5 years of age and older. CDC now recommends that children ages 5 through 11 years should receive a booster shot 5 months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series. Booster doses will be available to children 5+ in Barnstable County when the Massachusetts Department of Public Health adopts CDC’s recommendation.
