Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in July 2024 was up 12.9% from July 2023 volume and the total value of sales was up 27% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 8.3% from the previous year. There was a 15.2% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from July 2023 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 0.6%; Total Value of Sales is up 6.9%; Individual Sales Value is up 7.4%; Mortgage Volume is down 6.4%.
Register Meade reports that there were 464 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2024 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $441,204,307.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July 2024 was $677,850.00.
There were 658 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July 2024 with a total value of $484,935,488.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $367,500.00.
By way of comparison, there were 411 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2023 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $347,508,279.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July 2023 was $626,000.00.
There were 571 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July 2023 with a total value of $256,831,951.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $356,125.00.
