2025 Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod Application Now Available

Does spending time outside in your garden bring you joy? Barnstable County residents with a desire and willingness to learn and share information about gardening are welcome to apply to become a member of the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod. The program includes training and a volunteer commitment. The training starts in January and runs through March on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., equating to approximately 60 hours. There is also a volunteer commitment of 60 hours to be completed by October 31, 2025, about 30 hours of which are required staffing the Horticulture Clinic in South Yarmouth from April – October (Mon., Wed., and Fri. April – Sept.). In subsequent years there is a 20 hour volunteer commitment and a 5 hour continuing education requirement to be a Master Gardener. This program has limited capacity and therefore applications and interviews are used to select the most qualified candidates.

Applications are due by October 1, 2024. If accepted, the fee for the Master Gardener training program is $150.00 (financial assistance is available). Participation is contingent upon a satisfactory CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) inquiry.
