Congratulations to AmeriCorps Cape Cod and the numerous dedicated volunteers who played a pivotal role in rescuing over 100 stranded Atlantic white-sided dolphins in Wellfleet on Friday. This remarkable operation, described as the largest single mass stranding event in 25 years, showcased the strength and dedication of our community.

The rescue, led by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, saw contributions from AmeriCorps Cape Cod, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, the Center for Coastal Studies, and the New England Aquarium. Despite challenging conditions, their teamwork ensured the best possible outcome for the dolphins.
