Barnstable County Demonstrates New Fire Training Program and State-of-the-art Mobile Fire Training Props

October 27, 2022 – Today Barnstable County’s Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training Division, in collaboration with the Cape and Islands Chief’s Association, offered a demonstration of the County’s new fire training curriculum and mobile fire training props to fire fighters in the region.  The demonstration took place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 in the upper parking lot at Patriot Square Shopping Plaza, Route 134, Dennis.

Since the closure of the former fire training academy in 2018, Barnstable County has continued to deliver top-level mobile training to fire departments throughout the county. The Barnstable County fire training division has been re-engineered both in name, as the Cape Cod Center for Public Safety Training, as well as their methods of delivering environmentally safe training.

Using grant funds, the county has purchased several innovative mobile training props that can be transported to the local fire departments where training is conducted utilizing Barnstable County Fire Instructors. In conjunction with the Cape and Islands Chief’s Association, an event has been scheduled to demonstrate how the training props can enhance the training of Cape Cod firefighters.
