High Wind and Surf Advisory Posted for Cape Cod and Nantucket 8/16/22

8/16/2022 | A coastal storm is expected to impact Cape Cod and the Islands with wind and rain tonight into Weds (8/17).

  • 30-40 MPH winds are possible for much of the Cape and Islands, with potential for gusts up to 45 MPH on the lower Cape and Nantucket. Strongest gusts are anticipated late tonight through Weds. morning.
  • There is a potential for scattered power outages.
  • Some rain is likely; predictions vary between 0.5″ and 1″.
  • Conditions are expected to improve by Weds. afternoon.

Extended Outlook: Thursday through Sunday look mainly dry with much warmer temperatures and increasing humidity as we near the weekend. Chances of showers will be increasing as we begin the new week.
