Provincetown Announces State of Emergency Due to Sewer Failure

Affected area = Businesses and residences on the vacuum sewer on Commercial Street between Snow Street and Point Street AND Bradford Street between Conwell Street and Prince Street.
- All restaurant food preparation operations and bars in the affected area are closed.
- ONLY retail sales of commercially pre-packaged ready to eat food items is permitted in the vacuum sewer system area, until further notice.
Repairs are underway to resolve the failure. Until the system is back up and running, visitors are being asked to avoid the area to reduce water use and flow through the system. This will allow workers to complete their task quickly and safely.
