Notice of Opportunity for Public Comment on the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Public Participation Plan
For Immediate Release (July 19, 2022) – The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has released a 2022 update to its Public Participation Plan for a public review comment period. Members of the public are invited to review the updated document and provide comments.
The Public Participation (PPP) is updated every five years and serves as a guide to the Cape Cod MPO in its public participation efforts to offer early, continuous, and meaningful opportunities for the public to take part in the transportation planning and decision process. It provides a toolbox of techniques to achieve effective participation, reaches underrepresented and underserved populations, and complies with non-discrimination measures included in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Development of the Regional Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, Unified Planning Work Program, and corridor and area plans utilize the PPP in their engagement and outreach.
The 2022 update to the PPP includes virtual participation procedures, and evaluation of the effectiveness mechanism, and updated guidance on Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 from the US Department of Transportation. A copy of the draft updated document is available for review online at: www.capecodcommission.org/ppp
A virtual public meeting will be held to provide the public an overview of the 2022 update and an opportunity to provide public comments on the following date:
- Monday, July 25, 2022, at 5:00 PM
The virtual meeting can be accessed by clicking: www.capecodcommission.org/outreach/join or calling in to (929) 205-6099 and entering meeting ID 961 1903 7671.
